The environment is always our top priority
Conservation and sustainability are always our top priority. Using only sustainable and humanely harvested wild American Alligator, Black Diamond processes the skins in the most ecological designed tannery in the U.S. We have gone through great lengths to ensure the environmental integrity of our daily operations. Our facility features a modern water treatment plant that meticulously processes all water used during the tanning process. With safeguards and redundancies built throughout our systems, we pride our facility as being one of the most environmentally conscious in the world.
Black Diamond Alligator Tannery only tans sustainable wild skins, as animal welfare is a cornerstone of the Black Diamond mission. None of our skins are farm raised, meaning that our alligators have lived their lives in natural environments and are humanely harvested for their meat; not solely for their skins. More than a million alligators live throughout Florida today.
Since 1988, the state of Florida has held an annual alligator harvest, to maintain the population, which the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says "has been nationally and internationally recognized as a model program for the sustainable use of a natural resource.”
American Alligator is one of the most highly sought after, luxurious materials in the world with it’s natural beauty, and a timeless, evolutionary look and feel. Our mission is to produce the most exquisite product in the most environmentally harmonious way.
