In the league of diamonds, platinum, and gold...

American Alligator is considered one of the most sought after exotic skins in the luxury market.

A true luxury exists only by rarity—and with American Alligator indigenous only to the Southeastern United States, the rarity of this exotic skin could not be more absolute. In touch, in appearance, in style, American Alligator is unrivaled by crocodile or caiman skins which are exceedingly abundant throughout the world. American Alligator exhibits a natural beauty, a timeless, evolutionary look and feel that makes it so valuable to us today.

Unlike American Alligator, crocodile tiles can exhibit unsightly hair follicles, or sensory pores that reduce the natural beauty of the skin. American Alligator benefits from a loser fiber structure, making it ideal as a leather due to it's superior softness and malleability. Alligator also differs by the size and structure of its tiles, with a larger, more rectangular pattern present over a greater portions of it's body, and more detailed pebble like structure towards the sides of the skin.

While many tanneries are in excess of 30 years old, producing skins with outdated technology and environmental consequence, Black Diamond Tannery is newly constructed. And unlike other tanneries, Black Diamond receives skins year-round and thus can provide a steady and reliable supply.
