Black Diamond Tannery provides contract tanning services for farm raised and wild alligator skins with the option for crust tanning and full custom finishes. We solely specialize in tanning alligator skins that go on for use in the luxury leather market worldwide. Our tanning services and knowledge are now available to you for your own quality custom leather. 

The Black Diamond team has years of experience in the processing of alligator. While this internationally assembled team posses the skills required to produce world class alligator skins, it is their passion that is most reflective in the Black Diamond's insurmountable quality.

Our crust tannage results in soft, mellow hides receptive to excellent color variety to allow for finishing at a later date. 

Every finished hide is handcrafted into some of the softest most exquisite alligator leather in production ready to be made into a custom luxury product.

Hide preparation and shipping 

Learn how to properly prepare your hide or hides before delivery to the tannery.

Ship your skin via FedEx, UPS, or a Freight Trucking Service. Please do NOT ship skins via the U.S. Postal Service. It is recommended to ship hides on a Monday to avoid possible weekend delays. You may also deliver your skin(s) by appointment, Monday through Friday 8 AM-12 PM & 1 PM-4 PM. We are not open on Saturday or Sunday.

Pricing and Information

Black Diamond Tannery offers both crust and finished leather options for your convenience. Our price for contract tanning is based upon the measurement of the skin in centimeters measured at the widest point in the belly after crust tanning or dyeing to your specified color choice, and final polishing or glazing.

Black Diamond Tannery averages four months to complete the tanning process.
